Suggested cemetery walk

Start at the entrance that suits your journey. This sequence connects the selected landmarks:

  1. Gudrunstraße entrance: Pedestrian entrance near the administration building.
  2. Eastern pedestrian entrance: Narrow pedestrian entrance on the north-eastern side of the cemetery; bicycles are not permitted.
  3. Cemetery administration: Administration building by the Gudrunstraße entrance.
  4. Memorial to the Socialists: The cemetery’s central place of remembrance, a dedicated area.
  5. Ceremonial hall: Building designed by Hermann Blankenstein.
  6. Visitor toilet: Free wheelchair-accessible toilet near the ceremonial hall.
  7. Public parking near Gudrunstraße: Free public parking about 44 metres outside the entrance; it is not a designated cemetery car park.

Respectful visiting

Remain on permitted paths, give funeral ceremonies space and do not photograph people or private acts of remembrance without consent.

Allow for time and distance

The route is not signposted and has no binding distance. Compare it with the cemetery map, allow breaks on larger grounds and return to the exit well before closing.
